GE Predictivity™ Industrial Internet Solutions

As a key player in GE’s commitment to advance the Industrial Internet, the GE Software Center is at work helping industrial organizations use data, analytics, data visualization, and mobile connectivity to become more predictive and productive. This portfolio of solutions, called GE Predictivity™ is now one of the fastest growing areas within GE.

With Predictivity, industrial organizations have better visibility into the past, transparency into the present, and foresight into the future. These solutions put real-time intelligence in the hands of customers so they can advance assets and networks toward zero unplanned downtime, drive operational efficiencies, and eliminate waste.

Through GE’s powerful combination of software and analytics innovation, machine engineering expertise, and deep industry experience, customers have the insight and tools they need to take performance to the next level. Predictivity offerings range from condition-based maintenance and asset lifecycle optimization, to fuel consumption management and plant automation. They are powered by Predix™, a first-of-its-kind industrial-strength platform that provides a standard and secure way to connect machines, industrial big data, and people. Customers can choose from stand-alone software solutions or the right combination of software, equipment, and expertise tailored to drive outcomes that matter most.

Brazil’s Gol Airlines, for example, is using Flight Efficiency Services to analyze and track its flight routes and optimize fuel consumption. The airline predicts that the system will save $90 million over the next five years. St. Luke’s Medical Center is using Predictivity solutions to manage and analyze patient and equipment data. The system has already helped the hospital shave 51 minutes from bed turnaround time and reduce patient wait times.

Current Predictivity projects span a wide range of industries, driving the following outcomes:

  • Oil and Gas — Software that enables new levels of performance in the drilling process, optimizes gas turbines, and maximizes oil field production.
  • Power Generation — Combinations of hardware and software that boost wind turbine and gas-fired power plant output and efficiency.
  • Rail — Cloud-based software that allows rail shippers, car owners, logistic providers and terminal operators to automate operations, manage inventory, and control transportation costs.
  • Healthcare— Analytic applications that help healthcare providers manage mobile assets, drive better patient experiences, collaborate across organizations, and create safer care environments.
